How to Calibrate Nest Humidity Settings
One of the things that probably most homeowners hate is too much humidity.
It encourages the growth of mold.
People with respiratory tract conditions easily get allergic reactions in humid rooms.
That begs the question can you control humidity with Nest?
The simple answer is Yes.
If you live in a humid area you might have learned to live with it, but before giving up or moving out you could try using the Nest thermostat to track humidity.
If you are still trying to figure out does the Nest thermostat display humidity, you should check out the dry to cool setting on the device.
For most devices, when the Nest thermostat humidity reading is over 70 percent, it will switch on your AC. If you aren’t at home, it will begin to dehumidify when humidity is over 65%.
Calibrate Nest Humidity Settings
If you want to calibrate the Nest humidity settings this is what you need to do.
- Press the ring to open the quick view menu and choose Settings.
- Turn the ring to view the different options available and select one that suits you.
- Note that Nest thermostats will show different options on settings depending on the wires attached and the type of system you have.
- If you have a Nest learning thermostat, the thermostat schedule will be included in the quick view menu.
- If you’ve got the Nest thermostat E, the schedule is under Settings > Schedule. If this doesn’t appear on your thermostat then chances are that your system doesn’t support it. If you are missing out on a system that you think should have been included, explore your wiring system by going to Settings> Equipment menu.
- Depending on the type of equipment installed there are three different types of scheduled Heat. Cool, Cool and Heat. If you’ve got a fan installed, it is possible to set a separate fan schedule.
