How to Reset a Totaline Thermostat
Totaline makes a wide range of thermostats for home and business, and when they fail people hardly know how to go about resetting the device. If you want to know how to reset a Totaline thermostat you first have to understand that these thermostats have three basic configurations. Additionally, each of these configurations come with a different set of instructions.
This guide will explore how to reset a Totaline thermostat.
Eight Button Thermostat
- Step 1 – Push the “Fan” and “Mode” button at the same time and release after seven seconds.
- Step 2 – Press the “Fan” button until the display shows the word “Fd” or it starts to blink.
- Step 3 – Push the “Mode” key without letting it go for 5 seconds. Press it once more and let it go

Battery Thermostat
- Step 1 – Slide the “Program” switch to the “Set” option then press the “Next” button until the setup opens
- Step 2 – Push and release the “Next” button then push it again. Don’t release the button until all the function icons display.
- Step 3 – Press the next button and hold it until it displays “Fd.” The display won’t flash or blink.
- Step 4 – Push the “Next” button three times consecutively without holding it down. Switch it back to “Program” when it’s done.
Four Button Thermostat
- Step 1 – Press the “Mode” button and the “Down” key at the same time.
- Step 2 – Release both keys at the same time and hold the “Fan/override” button. Release the button when the display flashes or reads “Fd”
- Step 3 – Press the “Mode” button once and release. Push it once more and you will have completed the Totaline thermostat reset.
