What Does Hold Mean on a Honeywell Thermostat
Even though all programmable Honeywell thermostats let you dial in the different temperatures you want at different times of the week, they still have a fast button that lets you key in temporary on-demand changes.
These come in handy when you want a temporary change without affecting the programming for proper use. For instance, you are having the day off and want the house heated to a comfortable temperature and you don’t want to mess up the normal programming that powers down the heating when you are at work.
This is where the Honeywell thermostat Hold feature comes in.
Hold lets you override the thermostat’s programming just for a while. You will first have to dial in the desired temperature before pressing the ‘Hold’ button. The thermostat will maintain that temperature until you get it off hold. This is sometimes referred to as the permanent hold on the Honeywell thermostat.
If you want to hold a specific temperature until the next programmed zone kicks in, all you have to do is use the up or down arrows to temporarily override current temperature programming.
